Trail Assessment and Maintenance, May 20, 2011

This trip was intended to assess the current condition of the trail and to perform any possible maintenance.

The weather started out misty turning to a few showers then cleared up and was sunny in the afternoon. The temps were in the 60's

We cut away 4 blowdowns and cleared away several water bars for maintenance. The overall condition of the trail is in good shape. There are still 3 fairly large blowdowns that need a larger saw. The trail is still fairly muddy and wet and is advised to walk through the mud and not around. Diverting from the trail destroys the new spring vegetation. If mud bothers you then please find a drier trail.

Trail Assessment: February 26, 2011

This trip was intended to assess the current condition of the trail. No work was done.

Weather: Partly cloudy with a few flurries. Temps in the lower 20's with a light breeze.

The overall condition of the trail was great with the exception of  3 blown down trees blocking the trail. The first two are just past Tall Timbers camp and the third is just after entering the GMNF. Other than that the trail is in good condition.
